Payroll Assistant
Team Horizon is seeking a Payroll Assistant for our client in Dublin. This person will be reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, responsible for supervising a department of payroll staff using computerised administration systems running typically more than one payroll. They will ensure that the standards of accuracy and the timing requirements of the payroll(s) are met.

What you will be doing:
- Oversees the effective functioning of the local Payroll Team, ensuring adherence to statutory reporting requirements
- Liaises with senior managers in relation to the impact on the payroll function of HR policies and procedures
- Organises workloads to cope with peak processing requirements
- Distributes workload to team members, including regular review of payroll allocations
- Ensures compliance with Processes and Legislation and works to minimise financial loss for the business throug effective and timely processing
- Maintains Payroll Accuracy in line with agreed Key performance Indicators
- Provide Support and Input on Payroll Related Projects
- Assist with audits and finance queries
- Maintain, update and help create relevant Payroll policies, procedures, forms and knowledge articles as and when required
- Minimises loss from the business by enacting timely processing of leavers and payments
What you need to apply:
You will need to have:
- Educated to degree level.
- Experience managing a team (directly or indirectly), typically 2-5 people.
- Experience as a matrix manager (e.g., projects/dotted-line reporting). Strong understanding of insurance and taxation schemes.
- Experience working in a large organization. Proficiency in payroll processing software (e.g., ADP, Workday).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and employees.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
We would prefer you to have:
- Experience managing a team as a direct manager.
- Experience overseeing managers (grandfather management).
- Experience operating across multiple countries.
- Professional finance or payroll qualification.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related tools.
