Electrical Project Engineer
Team Horizon is seeking a Electrical Project Engineer for a leading pharmaceutical company in South Dublin.
Electrical Project Engineer supporting a portfolio of construction and engineering projects in a pharmaceutical campus. Coordination of electrical activities to deliver projects against Safety, Quality and Schedule commitments.

What you will be doing:
- Drive safe execution of works in compliance with site, corporate and regulatory authority guidelines.
- Participate in project lifecycle through concept, scoping, detailed design, execution, commissioning and close-out using the Capital Projects team’s Engineering Project Delivery process.
- Reporting, management and timely completion of project deliverables.
- Oversight and planning of construction works in tandem with third-party contractors, outsourced partners, construction managers and facility stakeholders.
- Participate in and manage daily whiteboard meetings for works planning.
- Work with construction contractors to ensure work is planned in advance, materials available, staff on site and safe and thorough planning is carried out including review and approval of RAMS, SPAs, COHE, LOTO’s etc. and issuing associated Permits to Work.
- Review installation works for quality and participate in system walkdowns and turnover.
- Review and approve turnover packs and as-built drawings.
- Support project commercial team in the management of project cost control.
- Solution seeking to complex project phasing and execution issues. The Project Engineer will need to work with stakeholders to identify the optimum path forward.
- Work in a collaborative manner within the project team structure and contribute to Root Cause and Cross Functional Investigations.
What you need to apply:
- FETAC Level 6 National Craft Certificate – Electrical equivalent or higher plus a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in driving a safety culture throughout a project team.
- Full understanding of electrical testing and certification requirements for a large project.
- Experience of working in a similar project environment – projects portfolio on a Biopharmaceutical site beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety, GMP and environmental regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of electrical installations including interpretation and understanding of electrical drawings, schematics and standards.
- Detailed knowledge of I.S. 10101 National Rules of Electrical Installations Knowledge of life safety standards; I.S. 3217 Emergency Lighting and I.S. 3218 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm systems.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and their interface with electrical infrastructure Experience inspecting electrical installations and producing detailed observation reports.
